Thassos is served by the mainland ports of Kavala and Keramoti. The city of Kavala and the port of Keramoti are both easy to reach from the Ignatia Odos (European highway E90) which is the main motorway serving the whole of the north of Greece, from Igoumenitsa on the west coast to Alexandroupolis in the east, close to the Turkish border. The E90 provides road connections to all of the Balkans and to the south of Greece and also passes Thessaloniki, Greece’s second city.
The Kavala route to Thassos takes about one hour and 15 minutes and arrives at Skala Prinos. This route has a maximum of 5 sailings to the island during the summer months. Skala Prinos to Pelago Bungalows & Restaurant is 26 kilometers.
The fastest and shortest ferry route to Thassos is from Keramoti and is preferred by many as there are departures every half an hour during the summer and the journey time is only 35 minutes. The boat docks in Limenas (Thassos Town) which is only a 12-kilometer journey to Pelago Bungalows & Restaurant. Follow the signs from the ferry port for Skala Potamia.
